Grapefruit Face Mask! ♥

Hey everyone! Today I did a grapefruit face mask!...We'll a KIND of grapefruit face mask. Grapefruit is a citrus fruit with a very bitter taste, but its great with a little sugar on top. I love grapefruit and I find myself eating it more and more everyday. While eating one I wondered, like many fruits, if the grapefruit has any benefits for your skin. We all know fruits in general are great for you but in what way is a grapefruit good for you?
Health
  • People use the fruit, oil from the peel and and extracts from the seeds as medicine.
  • Grapefruit juice is used for high cholesterol, cancer, psoriasis (a skin disease), weight loss, and obesity.
  • The extracts from the seeds help fight bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
  • Grapefruit is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and fiber.
  • Grapefruit has lycopene, a cancer fighting chemical.
  • It is used for the common cold and flu.
  • Grapefruit is good for treating infections and preventing gingivitis and prompting health gums.
Skin
  • Grapefruit can be applied to the skin for muscle fatigue, toning the skin, acne, and oily skin.
  • It contains bioflavanoids that help promote skin health.
  • Vitamin C is necessary for collagen production in the skin and grapefruit has tons of it.
  • Grapefruit extracts increase pH of skin which can reduce acne.
  • Grapefruit extracts have anti-aging benefits in them.
  • It is also has great astringent and exfoliating properties.

See! So many benefits in one small fruit! Now in this mask, its actually pairs with two other ingredients which may cause you to raise an eyebrow. All you need it:
A ripe grapefruit
Sour cream
Parsley
Honey

Sour...cream?...Parsley?....
Yep! Sour cream is a great moisturizer and gentle exfoliate! It contains lactic acid that helps brighten your complexion! All the natural fats bring back the moisture to your skin too! Parsley is abundant with nutrients and the vitamin C in the herb helps speed up the collagen production in your skin and sooth tired skin.

So this mask is fairly easy there are just many ways it can be done depending on your resources and it involves chopping. That's about it. I tried my best to simplify it so that you don't need to crack out the juicer/blender and you don't need to be a master chef.

The first thing you need to do is cut your grapefruit in half. Take one of the halves and you can
A. Scoop out ALL the inside fruit and blend it
OR
B.  Just squeeze it with your hands!
I just squeezed it. Make sure you get plenty of pulp out. You want about quarter cup of juice. You can use a measuring cup but if you're good at measuring you can just eye ball it.

Next, open up your sour cream! 4 big tablespoons of it should be enough!

Kind of icky lol
(Note: If you don't want to use sour cream you can use a unflavored plain yogurt instead!)

Here comes the hard part! Time to chop up your parsley (Note: Don''t use dried parsley, all the nutrients is sucked out of that! If its all you have you can use it thought.) If you have a blender, toss it in there and blend it so its in small pieces or chop it up. You only need a tablespoon or two of parsley. When you're done, toss it in and give your mask a good mix!

Here is what your mask should look like now! You're almost done!

Add a tablespoon or two of honey!

Done! You're ready to apply your mask! Rub it on in circular motions all over your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes.  The sour cream should have dried on the skin leaving only bits of parsley visible! Rinse it off with warm water.

I tried this face mask and after 25 minutes with it on (An episode of Family Guy distracted me) I rinsed it off and my face was super smooth! My skin as bright all day. I would definitely do this mask again.! If you still smell like sour cream after you wash it off, feel free to use your own face cleanser.

WARNING!
If you are on any medications please double check that grapefruit doesn't interact with it. Grapefruit juice may increase dangerous side affects or cause medication to be less effective!

Thank you for trying it out and tell me how it worked for you!

My Sunflower! ♥

Hi guys! Not too long ago I was at Walmart and I purchased a pack of sunflower seeds. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers; they grow so big and look so beautiful in the sun. I've bought tons of seed packets in the past of various fruits and flowers, with aspirations to have a big garden but I never got around to planting them. But I actually stopped being super lazy for once and planted three seeds in a pot and put them in the sun. I never expected them to grow and kind of forgot about them for a week or two. Luckily, it has been raining pretty frequently and when I went into my backyard to check them, one of the was actually growing! I was so excited! I was worried that it might have just been a weed growing but now I'm pretty sure its actually a flower. Its a little saddening that only one flower sprouted but I really don't mind. I love my little flower. I give it water everyday and I'm really surprised at how quickly its grow. Here's a few pictures!

My flower today~
A few days ago!
(Sorry the pictures are fuzzy! I use my dads camera and I'm not great a focusing~)

So yeah! I really can't wait until it grows big enough to plant in a yard. I'll post about it ever few weeks. It feels weird being so happy over this little flower, but I can't help it.  I hope it grows big!

Favorite animes of the moment! ♥

Hi there! So, I'm a huge anime fan and I am usually watching 3 or 4 at a time. So here are some of the animes I follow daily! (They are all instant all time favorites too!)

SIND SIE DAS ESSEN? NEIN, WIR SIND DIE JAGER!
This is pretty much one of the most epic animes I've ever watched. It has such a different and promising plot that it instantly became super popular. There are 13 episodes so far. Its full of action and giant human like monsters that eat people...whats not to love? The story follows Eren as he battles titans with this sister, friend and others. I can't give to much away but its AWESOME!

Okay this anime literally just came out and so far there is only one episode but its already one of my favorite and

LET ME

TELL YOU

WHY

The animation quality is excellent. Yes. That's that only reason. Hehe just kidding. Its about Haruka and his friends whom are all swimmers. If you're a fujoshi, you'll love it. If you just like sexy swimmers, you'll love it. Its obviously full of fan service but it has a promising plot.Watch the first episode and you'll see how great it it!

I've watched all 25 episodes of the first season and season two is coming out soon of Kuroko's Basketball. The story follows Kuroko and Kagami and the rest of the team as the make their way to defeating the Generation Of Miracles. This anime is so gay awesome! It makes gay basketball seem so intense! All of the team members are obviously gay amazing. hehehe.

Cropping with Gimp 2.8! ♥

Hey dudes! Soooo, recently I learned a lot of cool photo editing skills using the program Gimp2.8. For those of you that don't know what that is, its just a lesser (some would say better) version of Photoshop. People like me that don't need all those extra crazy editing tools will find Gimp much easier. And even lesser version of Gimp is Photoscape, so I you don't care for difficult photo editing, download that!~
Now, I see a lot of picture on tumblr of photos with transparent backgrounds or clips of  part of a photo and I've always wondered "How do they crop that out?". So I'm going to show you how to simply crop a photo like this:

In this picture I cropped out the body of a character from one anime and put it on top of a another picture as a joke for tumblr! It was really easy once you get the hand of it! I hope by following this you can learn how to crop too!

Banana Honey and Lemon Mask ♥

Hello, hello! Yesterday I found some time  in between the 4th of July festivities to make a quick and fruity mask that I think you guys will really like! You only need 3 ingredients to make it!
Honey
A lemon
A ripe banana

First, take your banana and cut it into pieces. The hardest part of this mask is the mixing. It takes awhile for the bananas to start getting mushy because they'll be slipping around the bowl. It you want, you can always use a blender or even your hands! I endured through the bananas slipping around and eventually....

That little guy is my frustration of mashing the bananas lol
It will look like this! Make sure its not too chunky!

Next, take your honey and add about two tablespoons. Mix it all up!

Last squeeze in some lemon! Don't add TOO much that it becomes watery, but add as much as you'd like! Lemon helps get rid of acne marks and scars and brightens your face!

And you're done! Apply the mask all over you face and wait 15 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water! My skin was instantly so much softer and brighter! This is definitely one of my absolute favorite natural masks.

Bananas have a ton of benefits for not only your health but your skin!

  •  Banana is a natural moisturizer for you skin! It has vitamin A that restores lost moisture and repairs damaged skin!
  • Banana contains vitamin C that helps maintain natural glow to your skin!
  • All the nutrients in banana helps to fight off wrinkles and keep your skin looking bright and youthful!
  • Banana also helps puffy eye bags! The potassium in bananas draws out excess fluid from under the skin and reduces swelling!
Bananas also contain a good amount of fiber which also masks them awesome energy boosters!

If you're allergic to bananas or just plain don't like them, a honey and lemon mask with a different fruit such as strawberries or avocado will work wonders as well!

Try out this mask and tell me how it works for you!
